All the agents were well versed in conspiracy measures and had access to state secrets and restricted documents.
According to the case file, the agents' criminal activities were supervised by Igor Yegorov, an officer of the 1st Service of the FSB's Counterintelligence Operations Department. He began to form his agent network in 2009, when he repeatedly visited Ukraine as part of interagency cooperation between the special services of the two countries.
The first of Yegorov's accomplices to be detained by the SBU in 2020 was Major General Valeriy Shaitanov of the Security Service of Ukraine. At the time, on Yegorov's instructions, Shaitanov planned a series of terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the murder of a well-known military volunteer, collected and transmitted information to Russia about covert operations in the ATO area, etc.
After the detention of Major General and a thorough investigation of all available materials, the SBU identified another agent of Yegorov, Dmitry Ivantsov. He is a former deputy head of Yanukovych's security, who in February 2014 helped the fugitive president move to Russia, but stayed in Crimea and joined the occupiers. Ivantsov is currently hiding in the temporarily occupied peninsula and is a resident of the FSB. His tasks include coordinating the subversive activities of other Russian agents in Ukraine.

Later, the SBU found that another agent of Yegorov-Ivantsov was a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who at the time of his detention turned out to be an active NABU employee. According to the case file, this Bureau official was recruited by the enemy back in 2012.
He continued to provide Ivantsov with the necessary information after 2014, when Yanukovych's henchman openly defected to the enemy. This is confirmed, in particular, by the secret correspondence that the defendants resumed just three days after the fake referendum on the "accession" of Crimea to Russia.
According to the case file, the current NABU officer is charged with more than 60 episodes of transferring restricted information to the former deputy head of Yanukovych's security.
Among other things, the "mole" collected for the FSB the identifying data of Ukrainian security forces and other citizens against whom the enemy was planning recruitment activities and special information operations.
To obtain personal information about potential "targets," the defendant used closed databases of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
After thorough documentation of the mole's crimes, the SBU and the OGP detained him. His phone and computer equipment, which he used to contact his curator, were seized.
The suspect was served a notice of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
